Ever since I decided to start blogging over a decade ago, I always made it a point to be open and honest when covering other folks’ content and businesses. This is really challenging at times because the truth is if a content creator wants to forge relationships and build connections with others businesses, the “influencer” world really discourages honest reviewing. It’s a delicate balance, especially if we’re trying to make an income off of our work.
What I have found is that most places and people have been happy to take constructive criticism in my reviews, though I have had to burn some bridges in the process. I consider this a worthy sacrifice to keep my content real. This has been at the forefront of my process when reviving my food blog and creating Boston Bytes. So I wanted to outline the integrity rules I have created and intend to abide bye.
