Yume Sushi Review – Great Sushi in Arlington, VA

Finding Yume Sushi on the Falls Church–Arlington Line: Location, Atmosphere & Vibe

f you’re in the Arlington / Falls Church, VA area and in the mood for some trendy and contemporary sushi, Yume Sushi is the place to be. My cousins and I made a pre-Thanksgiving trip to catch up and from the moment we stepped inside, we were delighted by the modern and contemporary atmosphere. While the restaurant was able to accommodate our group of five, indoor seating might be a challenger for larger groups.

The vibes were a ton of fun, though. The bar area was colorful and lively, with high-top tables and a vibrant energy. The restaurant also has outdoor seating, which would have been a great option on a warmer night. Unfortunately, it was too cold to sit outside on our visit, but we still enjoyed the feel of the indoor space.

This feels like a great spot for date or girl’s night, and everybody around us seemed to be having a great time.

What We Ordered at Yume Sushi: Fire Roll, Nigiri, Miso Soup & Cocktails

One of the great features of Yume Sushi is its menu, which offers an eclectic mix of classic and unexpected options. We started with cocktails, and they were a hit – the Treading Water that I ordered was delicious and the other options on the menu looked just as tempting. If you’re a fan of unique and creative cocktails, you’ll definitely want to check out the drink selection here.

For appetizers, our group shared the tuna tartare, which was a family favorite especially because of the nori crackers, as well as the Japanese Pickled Cucumbers. Both were fresh and flavorful, and set the stage for the main event – the sushi! We decided to mix and match a few different options, including the sashimi dinner, Yume roll, Jeff roll, and crazy monkey roll, to name a few. All of the sushi was top-notch – the fish was incredibly fresh and the flavors were well-balanced. We were also impressed by the presentation – each dish was easy on the eyes and photogenic. We were all very happy with the food, and there wasn’t a single dish that missed the mark.

In addition to the sushi, Yume Sushi has a range of other menu options, including soups, salads, and cooked entrees. They also offer some cool speciality items including various caviar and imported Wagyu beef! We didn’t have a chance to try any of these items on this trip, but they all looked delicious and I hope to find my way back to explore more of the menu.

The service at Yumesushi was another highlight of our experience. Our waiter was very attentive and gave us clear instructions on how to enjoy the various dishes. He was also happy to answer any questions we had and made sure that our water glasses were constantly refilled. Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was efficient and we never felt rushed or ignored, which is always a plus!

Final Thoughts: Should You Visit This Sushi Restaurant in Arlington, VA?

I have to say overall our experience at Yume Sushi was fantastic. We really enjoyed the restaurant, the food, and the atmosphere, and the service was excellent. If you’re planning to visit on the weekend, it might be a good idea to call ahead as the restaurant can get busy. But even if you have to wait for a table, I think it’s worth it – the food and drinks are top-notch. Keep in mind this isn’t going to be a great option for most vegetarian friends. But, whether you’re out with friends or on a date, Yume Sushi is a great spot for a fun night out for most. We’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu and enjoy the lively atmosphere.
